The King’s Reception
Luke 19:28-44
I. Introduction
The arrival of a King has significant implications. All people must accept Christ as King. His followers can rejoice at His return, but those who do not believe must repent and receive Him before He returns. God's plan for redemption is evident in Jesus’ submission.
II. The King has come
The Gospels offer different perspectives but share the same story. Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem highlights significant events, including His visit with Zaccheus. His final entrance to Jerusalem illustrates His purpose. Key points include reception and obedience, rejoicing at His coming, and the consequences of rejecting His kingship.
III. We receive and obey Him
When we accept Jesus as Savior, we must also accept Him as Lord. We should obey His commands and follow His instructions.
IV. We rejoice at both of His comings
Disciples recognize Jesus as the Messiah. We should celebrate His humble entry while looking forward to His joyful return. Rejoice in your salvation and anticipate His return.
V. We reconcile the lost to Him
Not everyone welcomes Jesus, and we must encourage those who reject Him to reconcile with Him. Believers are ambassadors, sharing His message and spreading the gospel.
VI. Conclusion
The King has come and will return. The call remains to receive or reject Him. Accept and obey Him, rejoice in His comings, and reconcile others to Him.
